What is LGS?
Light gauge steel framing: the modern alternative to wood and heavy steel.
Cold-formed steel (CFS), also called light gauge steel (LGS), uses thin steel coils rolled into structural profiles on-site or in a fabrication facility. The result is a frame that is stronger and more dimensionally stable than timber, lighter than heavy structural steel, and immune to rot, termites, and fire. It's the material of choice for resilient construction in humid, hurricane-prone, and termite-active environments.
Non-combustible — does not fuel fires
Termite-proof and rot-resistant — no chemical treatments needed
Dimensionally stable — no warping, shrinking, or swelling
100% recyclable at end of life
Compatible with AAC panels for a complete Framecrete envelope
The Scottsdale system
One ecosystem. Machines, software, and support.
Scottsdale Construction Systems delivers an end-to-end platform — not just equipment. Every component is engineered to work together so fabricators can go from architectural drawing to finished steel frame in hours.
Roll Forming Machines
Panel and truss roll formers engineered for precision and durability. Designed for 2–4 person fabrication teams with production rates suited to residential and light commercial projects. No unnecessary extras — every option earns its cost.
Design & Engineering Software
3D virtual building software that converts architectural drawings into panel and truss layouts, runs structural engineering analysis, and syncs directly with the roll formers for CNC production — no manual file conversion required.
24/7 Global Support
Around-the-clock technical assistance, maintenance, spare parts supply, and an online knowledge base. Support packages scale from production-volume tiers to unlimited plans — so operators of every size are covered.
Fabrication systems
Two product lines, infinite permutations.
Scottsdale's technology covers wall panels and roof trusses in a single integrated workflow. Both product lines share the same software and can be combined on the same project.
Panelised System
Panelised Fabrication System
Produces cold-formed steel wall frames, ceiling frames, roof panels, and floor joists as flat panels fabricated off-site and assembled on the building footprint. Steel thickness: 0.55mm–1.20mm.
- Complete residential steel houses — walls, ceilings, roof frames, and floor joists
- Commercial roofing panels and infill panelling
- External rain shields and internal partitioning
Truss System
Truss Fabrication System
Produces fully engineered bolted steel trusses and floor joists for span applications where panel framing is not optimal. Trusses are designed and output by the same software suite.
- Roof trusses for residential and light commercial spans
- Floor joist systems for multi-storey and elevated construction
- Combination with panelised walls for a complete steel structure
Why FrameSteel for the Caribbean
Steel that performs where wood fails.
Hurricane resistance
Cold-formed steel frames are engineered to withstand high wind loads. Unlike timber, they don't split, shear, or delaminate under the cyclical loading of a hurricane.
Termite and rot immunity
The Caribbean's tropical climate makes timber vulnerable to termite infestation and fungal rot within years. Steel frames are unaffected — no fumigation, no treatment cycles.
Speed of construction
Factory-precision panels slot together on-site in a fraction of the time required for masonry or timber framing. Smaller teams achieve higher output.
Design flexibility
The 3D software accommodates custom geometry, varying spans, and mixed residential or commercial programmes — all within a single integrated workflow.
Supply chain reliability
Scottsdale operates in 100+ countries with a proven logistics and spare-parts network. Framecrete handles regional distribution and project support across the Caribbean and LatAm.
Sustainability
Light gauge steel is 100% recyclable. Combined with Framecrete's white AAC panels, it forms a low-embodied-carbon envelope with excellent thermal performance.
