The structural steel framing is engineered for Category 5 winds and the roof can be anchored to the slab per hurricane-zone standards. Barbados sits on the Atlantic edge of the storm belt, and the system has been specified for exactly that exposure level.
Yes. Galvanized steel resists sea spray and AAC has very low moisture absorption. Unlike timber or organic materials, the system won't rot, swell, or feed mold under persistent tropical coastal conditions.
AAC has a thermal insulation coefficient several times greater than conventional concrete block. In Barbados's warm climate, it keeps interiors cooler passively and reduces cooling demand — a direct factor in the building's operating cost.
