Yes. Light-gauge steel framing is engineered for sustained Category 5 winds and roof anchoring is specified per wind-zone requirements. The system doesn't deform or collapse — it maintains structural integrity under extreme storm loads, exactly the exposure the BVI faces.
The steel framing is hot-dip galvanized with coatings specified for marine environments. AAC is fully mineral — it doesn't absorb moisture or react with salt. Unlike timber or conventional block, the system doesn't corrode, rot, or lose structural strength under constant salt-air exposure.
AAC weighs up to 50% less than conventional block. This reduces foundation loads, allows lighter structures, and makes handling on site easier without heavy equipment. That's a real technical advantage on coastal or difficult-access sites.
Yes. AAC has a high thermal insulation coefficient for its thickness — significantly better than concrete block. In the BVI's warm climate, it keeps interiors cooler passively, reducing dependence on air conditioning and lowering electricity consumption.
Minimal. Galvanized steel and mineral AAC don't rot, deform, or require termite or mold treatments. Unlike timber or porous block in tropical environments, the system maintains its properties without costly periodic interventions.
